Interior Design Technologist (Revit)

Are you a creative and passionate Interior Design Techologist interested in collaborating with some of the greatest talents in architecture and interior design?


As a core member of the Interior Design team, you will oversee and collaborate with the team during the production/project stage on a variety of high-end projects such as boutique residential houses, condominiums, offices, healthcare, cultural, and one-of-a-kind product design. You will manage all project-related tasks, client meetings, and contractor coordination while working directly with the Design Director and other studio members and consultants. This role will be based out of our Toronto office.

As an Interior Design Technologist, you will:

  • Develop and prepare all aspects associated with contract documents;
  • Compile plans, details, and schedules to ensure Drawings packages comply with best professional practices and applicable codes;
  • Check, edit, and mark up drawings as required and review design requirements to offer recommendations and create architectural drawings to support construction projects;
  • Ascertain and develop plans, elevations, cross-sections, plan and section details, window/door/room schedules and detailed drawings that meet client’s needs as documented in the programming stages of the project;
  • Liaise closely with the Interiors team to determine and implement necessary project requirements and to analyze and determine solutions to improve concepts and resolve design problems on an ongoing basis;
  • Support the team in refining and improving internal drawing standards;
  • Work with Project Managers and Job Captains to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget;
  • Review drawings to ensure all codes and jurisdictional requirements are complied with and provide coordination between all key stakeholders and various consultants;
  • Coordinate the construction document drawings and specifications for all disciplines
  • Prepare project “storyboards” to determine approximately how many drawing sheets are required and how many project hours and staff are required in architectural production;
  • Develop and establish technical details for the project including plans, sections, elevations, plan/section details, schedules (wall/ceiling/roof types, etc.), and elevation details to meet the design intent;
  • Source and coordinate all materials to be drawn and specified to ensure feasibility and to meet not only the design intent but to comply with industry standards and all insurers; and
  • Maintain familiarity with current construction, document delivery techniques and developments to sustain and improve technical skills.


As an Interior Designer Technologist, you will have:

  • An Interior Design or Architecture degree from an accredited 4-year program;
  • 5+ years of experience in production and preparation of Construction and Contract Documents in related areas of Interior Design & Architecture;
  • Extensive experience using Revit in various levels of the project; 
  • Experience working in the production of high-end boutique residential houses and condominiums, cultural, one-of-a-kind healthcare projects, and product design;
  • Experience in managing a team and demonstrating excellent personal time management;
  • An advanced level of experience in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite;
  • Strong design sensibility and understanding of architectural spaces and concepts
  • Knowledge of working drawings, construction and millwork details, and building codes;
  • Effective verbal and visual communication skills; and
  • Extensive knowledge and constant quest for the latest products and materials in the design, art, and architectural fields.
