Architectural Designer– Model Maker/ Fabricator

Are you a creative and meticulous Architectural Designer (Modeler/Sculptor/Artist), with strong visual skills and steady hands, interested in collaborating with some of the greatest talents in the industry in commissioning models for a diverse scale of award-winning portfolios?


As an Architectural Designer (Modeler/Sculptor/Artist), you will be working collaboratively with the fabrication studio team and participating in crafting three-dimensional scale models that are used for schematic and conceptual design development, as well as presentations. Our studio participates in a various cultural, educational, healthcare, custom residential, commercial, retail, multi-residential, and interior design projects.


Your manager and colleagues will be guiding you, introducing you to the requirements and systems of the role, as well as collaborating with you on your objectives.

As an Architectural Designer – Model Maker / Fabricator you will be:

· Creating three-dimensional models based on the Architect’s design approach and assisting the Architect in evolving and improving design development

· Studying, observing, and interpreting architectural drawings and sketches from the Architect to develop and fabricate an appropriate conceptual model

· Assisting the Marketing team visually to deliver successful presentations

· Developing a strategic plan for successful submissions under tight deadlines

· Determining appropriate material dimensions, required equipment, and operation sequences

· Maintaining (repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, and testing) machines, devices, tools, and equipment regularly

· Monitoring inventory on a regular basis and re-stocking any shortages

· Operating power tools and hand tools in a safe manner

· Working collaboratively and respectfully with the team

· Developing drawings and 3D models for outsourcing if required


To achieve your objectives as an Architectural Designer – Model Maker/Fabricator you will have:

· A degree or diploma in Architecture, Fine Arts, or equivalent

· Experience in architectural model fabrication (or equivalent)

· A background in architecture and/or furniture design

· An ability to read architectural drawings and sketches

· Abilities to collaborate well with the team and to work independently

· Knowledge in AutoCAD

· 3D software skills (Rhino, 3Ds Max, Rhino, or equivalent) are an asset


As an Individual you will:

· Be a confident decision-maker and analytical person that can analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems

· Have a steady hand and a good eye for detail, proportion, and colour

· Have coordination and collaboration skills that will allow you to adjust actions based on teams’ actions

· Have critical thinking skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

· Have a clear understanding of inter-related work processes to be able to adapt to various assignments

· Provide solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required
