One Eglinton East, its podium and 65-storey tower enlivened with dramatic diagonals, is a mixed use development befitting its location at the lively crossroads of Yonge and Eglinton. An important goal of this project is to improve the public realm. The development incorporates residential, retail, and office uses and will connect via pedestrian tunnel to a subway/LRT interchange. A large piazza provides ample exterior space for the retail and restaurant uses on the first two floors. The second storey of the podium features a wide terrace with publicly accessible stairs at the south-west and north-east corners of the site. Vehicular, loading, and service access is located in a laneway off of the main streets.

Façade Studies
The building’s façades have been designed both for visual interest and to abate winds at ground level. Triangular shapes are the dominant design element, contrasting with the building’s more rectilinear neighbours.

Façade Studies
Towards the top of the 225-metre tower, the façade becomes smooth, reflective glass, giving the impression that the building is dissolving into the sky.

One Eglinton East contributes to neighbourhood vibrancy through its interesting design, by adding residents and amenities, and retaining the site’s employment uses by including 111,750 sq ft of commercial space to compensate for the mid-rise office building it replaces.
